i mostly retract this theory as of 7-29-07 =)

hi, this is Valerie, and I wanted to throw my theory out there. it fits... for now. =)
the quotes are from the emails.

I think Subject 3 is Ona, who is Subject C's (the sick girl in the hospital) mother.
The husband/father is Rudkus, who "never comes to the 120".
Ona's the one who has a sick daughter and such "a strong love for self" (from the Christopher email) -so much love of self that she'd leave her husband and go out to a club while her daughter battles cancer or whatever sickness.
The Primary Focus is Jurgis, and they are using Ona's selfishness to influence Jurgis and get her into the 120, ("subject 3 will play an important role in the nurturing of the primary focus" and "now that subject 3 has introduced the primary focus into the 120").
For now, Jurgis feels the need to intervene by hinting that Ona should be with her husband ("where's rudkus" and "are we leaving") but she's starting to back down, maybe in trying to stay out of any blame or not anger her friend ("primary focus reluctantly attempts intervention and is relieved to be denied").

The picture titled "subject3" doesn't necessarily mean Subject 3 is a man. That dude's a bouncer, (really, I found that picture on Flikr and it's titled "bouncer", heh) so it could have just been meant to show how Subject 3 (Ona) has been spending her time.
